upcoming workshop - learn how to instruct Gym based exercise sessions
We are really excited to announce that BRENT RICHENS will be delivering a Hands On Practical Workshop in Hervey Bay. This is an opportunity for people who are thinking about a career in fitness to get a real world, hands on experience with what it feels like to be a fitness instructor.
In this workshop you will learn to instruct a full body strength training session including:
- How to do compound leg, chest and back exercises in the gym
- The main muscles used, breathing and tempo for each exercise
- Basic instructor techniques using the ESIC Method
- Cueing and correction for common technique errors
- Common variations and substitutions for each exercise
- Fitness career opportunities and course options available
This workshop is ideal for people who are:
- thinking about starting a course to become a qualified fitness instructor,
- already studying to become a qualified fitness instructor or personal trainer, and
- recent fitness course graduates looking to build some extra confidence.

Background: With years of experience as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, since 2010. I have worked in both commercial settings and as a self employed trainer. In addition to my personal training career, I have previously served as an intern and Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach with High Performance Sport New Zealand.. My passion lies in helping others improve their fitness, strength, and overall health.
Opportunities: I aim to share my knowledge and experience with others while being part of a collaborative team. I am excited to develop future industry leaders and expand my opportunities, with the ultimate goal of developing future team members for my business.
Conditions: Students are expected to maintain professionalism, punctuality, and a positive attitude during practice sessions. Students need to make sure they are well prepared for the sessions, having watched the demonstration videos, prepared the paperwork and have your practice clients organised.
